I KNOW WE’LL MEET AGAIN WAS A REFERENCE TO DR. STRANGELOVE
AND THERE WAS NO REAL IMPLICATION OF A CONNECTION BETWEEN BILL AND/OR FORD AND VERA LYNN’S MUSIC
WELL PARDON ME BUT GOD DAMN I AM LOCKED IN A CAGE OF BILLFORD FEELS
*takes a few breaths to calm down*
Okay, so it’s my first day of vacation, and I’ve been chilling on my balcony, sunbathing and needle felting and eating strawberries and blasting Vera Lynn because reasons. I’ve never listened this far into her work, and I just… man, there’s so much Billford in this stuff
Like. First of all, a recurring theme in Lynn’s songs is old love, in two different meanings: bittersweet (but mostly sweet) past love, and old people in love. Both of these themes go hand in hand with Ford’s relationship with Bill, if we assume a scenario where he’s able to acknowledge – at least to himself, the affection he had, and possibly still has for Bill.
I MEAN ASGFJFGFKDN. It just makes my poor angsty fluff-loving shipper heart explode!! The idea of Ford, as he grows older, allowing himself to love Bill, or at least the memory of him, despite a whole load of everything that by all logic should go against it. I am sobbing on the floor and I will never get back on my feet again send help
I also got a good chuckle out of this part in As Time Goes By (it’s not an original Lynn song but who cares, her cover is amazing):
“third dimension” like what business does that line have to be in there lol how exactly was 3D a new thing in the early 20th century
but yeah Ford you need to get down to earth and chillax and stop thinking science all the time (I might or might not be referring to one particular scene in Blood Chains hehehe)
now excuse me I must go buy fresh tomates for my summer vacationy tomato soup
